Obituary

John K. Vadas, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on May 7, 2019. John was born on January 19, 1950 in Warren to John C. & Margaret B. (Paulley) Vadas. He was a 1968 graduate of JFK High School.

John proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1969-1972 where he was the radar operator on the USS Wasp. Upon his honorable discharge, John took a position working for Packard Electric. He retired from Delphi in 2001.

On April 11, 1970, John was united in marriage to the former Sandra Allen who survives.

John found peace in the woods and frequently carved out time to go hunting and camping. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and NASCAR; cheering on driver Kevin Harvick. He also belonged to the USS Wasp Association to stay in touch with the men he served alongside. Most importantly, John was a patriotic man who loved his family and was a devoted husband and father.

Visitation for John will be held on Monday May 13, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday May 14th from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, Warren where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 14th at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.

Besides his wife of 49 years, John is survived by his sons (Jon) Kristopher, Jason and Matthew Vadas, and his brother Michael (Judy) Vadas as well as many other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his son Kevin Vadas, his parents and his brother William Poppal.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
