Lynda Kay (Patton) Molnar, 69, passed away Friday, March 13 at Hospice House after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Youngstown, OH on April 6, 1945, daughter of the late Dr. Stewart G. and Dorothy Irene Patton.

Lynda was 1963 Austintown-Fitch High School graduate. She went on to receive her BA of Education from Younstown State University, and later received her Masters of Education from Westminster College. Lynda taught for Austintown Schools for over 30 years, retiring in 2010.

Lynda will be remembered for her great pride of Austintown-Fitch. She was often seen on the sidelines taking photos of students and cheering on her beloved Fitch Falcons. Her compassion and commitment led to life long relationships with faculty and students. Lynda was a proud member of the Austintown Alumni Association, and the Mahoning County Retired Teachers.

Lynda also had a passion for raising Hackney Ponies on the family farm, Sher-Lynn Pony Farm. She was a member of the Mahoning County Pony Breeders Association and the Ohio Hackney Association where she also served as a board member. Lynda was recognized for her participation at the Canfield Fair, showing her Hackney Ponies at Pony Palace for over 50 years.

Left to carry on Lynda's memory is her loving husband, Richard "Mo" A. Molnar; her daughter, Danielle (Zubal) Hilton, and her husband Gary; her son, Chad Zubal, and his wife Theresa; her step-children, Renee Reardon, Tessie Molnar, and Michael Molnar; her sisters, Sheryl (Patton) Neuman and her husband Attorney Craig Neuman, and Leah (Patton) Petrucci and her husband Dr. Dean Petrucci; and her grandchildren, Raeghan Irene Hilton, Connar Stewart Hilton, and Alexa Lynn Zubal.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15 from 3PM-6PM at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave. A funeral service will take place on Monday, March 16 at 11AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at North Jackson Cemetery.
